Greetings Chris,

In response to your post, what needs to be remembered is tha the big clubs are a business just like sound systems are. There is a popular following for dancehall but not as big as the House/ Garage scene therefore large clubs will be reluctant to invest in to the scene. The way forward I feel is to establish the dancehall scene as an entity. There is no argument that the dancehall scene has a following but it lacks serious marketing power and or strategy. I feel the Reggae fraternity needs to have a major label to promote it and the support of the dancehall sounds and DJ's to make dancehall popular. The funny thing is Dancehall is growing but it is the R&B artiste's that is making it grow primarily because everybody knows the Beyonce's and Mariah Carey's. We need a marketing machine to enhance the profile of the music and the artiste's. There is a whole lot more to say on this subject but lets see what people's response will be to what I have written. Before I go how about asking yourself this question... Beres Hammond sells mega units around the world and his concerts are constantly sold out, so why is he not on a major label?

Peace!
