DJ SEPTIK's BIOGRAPHY
Septik started off his career at an early age. At 14 Septik became Belgium’s DMC champion in the freestyle category. Immediately following his victory, Septik was motivated to produces a mix and blending of sounds inspired by his love for music.
At the age of 15, Septik had his first radio hip-hop show called “Family Affair” alongside his brother Dj Psar. Progressing in his new found passion for deejaying, Septik discovers his passion for Reggae and Dancehall and immediately brought those sounds to the forefront of his performances. In addition to his two weekly radioshows, Septik held the title as the reggae music programmer for Vibration: an urban radio station in Brussels established in 2002. This opportunity pioneered the concept for his show “Slow Bounce” and has since been a model used around the globe. “Slow Bounce” is now one of the biggest shows on “Big Up Radio” featured on United States webradio.
Adding to his lengthy resume, Septik was also the official deejay for the Caribbean Soundtrack Radioshow hosted by Deon Mattis and was broadcasted in several islands in the Caribbean.
Today, SEPTIK is part of the #1 Dj team in Europe: the MP Family.
He was for 2 years a resident Dj for “Hot Sunday nights" at the mythical “Mondial” club in Holland. He is today a Residence Dj of the “Da Real Deal” parties in Brussels city, and also of the "Slow Bounce party" at De Cinema in Antwerp. Septik is eager for more! He has hosted events in France, Germany, The Netherlands, Canada, Belgium and has opened up for established artists such as Lord Kossity, Fatman Scoop, Soumia, Kaysha, Saian Supa crew, Humphrey, Lynnsha and many others.
Septik regularly releases “Slow Bounce” mixtapes, alongside reggae artists Sadiki, Big Jay, and Red Rat. He also works alongside other established artists like Ce’cile, Delly Ranks, Sizzla, and many more.
Septik is also the Official DJ of a new Belgian Reggae artist called Lion Man.
His debut at Studio Athanor in Brussels in 2002 created many opportunities for Septik. Popular clubs such as the Madeleine Plaza in Paris, the Taksim in Bochum or the Tokyo bar in Montreal have all extended their gratitude in having Septik perform at their establishments.
Septik is the spokesperson for Reggae and Dancehall culture in Belgium, many look to him for the newest hits and biggest club joints.
