In the peaceful streets of Bruges Rock City some yute were occupied promoting reggae, ragga and dancehall music.
North Venice Crew excists of two respectively music groups. One is called skavosalamosana productions, a resident soundsystem providing carribean vibes in a local cocktail bar called Relax. The sound consisted of two members: Skandalamophana & Eagle I.
Since 2002-2003 they were playing live on the famous german internet radio raggakings.net.
The other dancehall reggae group was called Flying Sound with following members: FLD and Six-Am. Also Eagle I was often their mc. They played at different venues and organised every month a big bashment under the name ‘Showtime’. The best belgian sounds passed the revue:
Civalizee Foundation, Far West Crew, Bassculture, Uphill sound, Uruhu sound, Massive sound...

In the beginning of 2006 the 2 crews merged and with selector six-am, mc eagle i and with the allround skandal together they formed North Venice Crew.
Bruges, the city were all 3 live, is also called The Venice of the North because it’s old look and also the small canals are very similar with Venice, Italy!

As an official startoff North Venice Crew organised two big events with famous international artists in februari 2006. The first gig they welcomed the infamous Shinehead! They surprised the audience with a big artist from new york: Jamalski… Together, and longside original messenjah, they mashed up the club!
A second gig, only one week later, was another succes. They invited the best austrian soundsystems: badfish (bredren fi real!!), jah power sound (i lik chalwa bullit!) and bunfiresquad. A special surprise on this edition was an unofficial battle versus the belgian dancehall queen 2005 Monique and the austrian dancehall queen 2005 Valerie!
Only one month later they were invited by the austrian topsound Badfish. Together with our big belgian talent Original MessenJah and a top mc called spok (www.indigenous.be) they did a small tour through austria and slovakia. That week they played longside Bass Odyssey (jamaica), Daddy Freddy (jamaica), 3gga (austria) and different sounds from austria and slovakia.

Around that time they started off a brand new radioshow on the famous german internetradio raggakings.net. The two weekly show is called Bruges Rock Reggae. They bring every show a mix of latest reggae and dancehall riddims, the top 10, specials...
Every 1st, 3th and (sometimes) the 5th thursday of the month!
Or you can tune in on the site of raggakings.net or you can enjoy the radioshow live at the Doo Wop, the urban temple of bruges (it's in the 'predikherenstraat').
